Former Fox News Resident Anti-Trumper Shep Smith Finds A New Gig, And It’s Predictable

(Right Country) – Last year, veteran news anchor Shepard Smith abruptly quit Fox News, where he had worked for decades.

Smith was one of the most reliably anti-Trump anchors at the network, and his departure caused little upset among Fox viewers.

Now, he’s found a very appropriate new gig over at CNBC as an evening newscast anchor, The Blaze reports.

Smith left Fox News in 2019 after 23 years with the network.

Wednesday, CNBC announced that “The News with Shepard Smith” will debut this fall.

A statement from CNBC says, “Smith will anchor a new one-hour evening news program titled The News with Shepard Smith, airing Monday through Friday at 7pm ET.”

“The newscast,” the statement continues, “which will launch in the Fall, will cover the most significant news stories of the day and will feature the well-respected, fact-based storytelling that has been the hallmark of his 30-year career. Smith will also assume the new roles of CNBC’s Chief General News Anchor and Chief Breaking News Anchor as well as Executive Editor of The News with Shepard Smith.”

Smith also commented on his pleasure to have been hired in a Wednesday statement.

“Gathering and reporting the news has been my life’s work,” he said. “I am honored to continue to pursue the truth, both for CNBC’s loyal viewers and for those who have been following my reporting for decades in good times and in bad.”

“CNBC Chairman Mark Hoffman, a journalist himself at his core, presented me with CNBC’s vision for a fact-based, hour-long evening news program with the mission to cut through the static to deliver facts, in context, and with perspective. I know I found a great home for my newscast. I am excited to be working with the exceptional talent at CNBC and eager to build a team focused on uncovering the news behind the headlines,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Hoffman, in his own statement, explained, “Information is coming at us from every direction. If we’re not careful, life-altering decisions will be made based on half-truth, rumor, misdirection, or worse. We aim to deliver a nightly program that, in some small way, looks for the signal in all the noise.”

“We’re thrilled that Shep, who’s built a career on an honest fight to find and report the facts, will continue his pursuit of the truth at CNBC,” Hoffman’s statement concluded.

Are you someone who looks to Shep Smith to seek out the truth?

  1. It is my opinion that Shep has proven his worth at Fox News and wilh the hope that he will continue to present FACTS….not dias rhortic . It would be interesting if the management of the network will allow FACTS and un-bias news to be presented. I thought Shep was a journalist in the true sense of the word and will visit the network when he starts reporting.
    Good Luck Shep

  2. Sure, he’ll never be missed by the viewers of Fox but he was at a much more popular network than he is now. CNBC, who the heck ever heard of it? Oh, now I remember, CNBC were the ones who host one of the republican primary debates in 2016 and they were asking stupid questions of the candidates. Ted Cruz got sick of it and chewed the worthless brain dead hacks out. Then the rest of the republicans began playing games with CNBC and the hack journalist lost control of the debate and ended up looking like the fools they really are. When Juan Williams came to FOX, he left a nobody network, NPR, and even though he’s still a liberal, his career did move up. Yep, Sheepdip Shep, you made a wise move, fool.

  3. I always knew he was a never Trump person as he was always finding FALT. Mabey he will find something positive to do it would help his image & reporting a GREAT DEAL.

  4. I am a Democrat but I have watched Shep on Fox for years way back to the New Orleans disaster and “Joe the Plumber” tongue in cheek reports. The nasty comments are obviously made by the idiots who follow the clown in the White House. They are irrelevant!
    Look forward to you Shep,

  5. Shepard Smith’s only shining moment in his career was reporting on a GG Allin show when he worked at WCPX in Orlando.

  6. He’s the worst kind of anchor! He seamlessly mixes fact with his leftist angst! He had full blown TDS, should never be a news anchor at any cable or broadcast station! I complained for years to Fox News management, so Mr. Hoffman, be ready, but first, please force him to sit in a big boy chair, sitting on his little boy chair was so distasteful!

  7. Yup. Shep is a waste of brain matter. His attitude on Fox was so disgusting it made me want to puke. Hope he and his kind get what they deserve for poisoning America with lies from their hate filled, clueless agenda.
