(Right Country) – No doubt knowing that his party appears to be completely complicit in the rising anti-police rhetoric across the country, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden condemned the ambush-style attack on two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies on Saturday night.
He also called for…a ban on assault weapons?
If you had any doubts that the old dude has succumbed completely to dementia, here you go.
The two deputies were shot with a handgun.
I get that Democrats don’t even know that there’s no such thing as a “weapon of war,” but you’d think they’d at the very least be able to tell the difference between a long rifle and a handgun.
“Weapons of war have no place in our communities,” the former vice president declared Twitter. “We need to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”
Did his team actually approve this tweet, or are they letting him have unfettered access to his own Twitter account?
If so, it’s not working out for him the same way it’s working out for POTUS Trump, that’s for sure.
Earlier, Biden had called the shooting attack “unconscionable,” which is really quite insulting to our intelligence considering the heightened anti-police rhetoric that has been raging in our streets for three months, which Biden only got up the courage to condemn last month.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump called for a fast trial of the shooting, who remains at large as of this writing, and the “death penalty for the killer” if the deputies die.
Thankfully, the deputies were reported to be in stable condition on Monday.
President Trump also accused Biden of being weak on crime during a campaign event on Saturday night, pointing to the shootings from earlier in the day.
“He’s not strong for law and order and everybody knows that,” Trump said. “When you see a scene like happened just last night in California with the two police people – a woman, a man – shot at stone cold short range.”
The deputies, a 31-year-old woman and a 24-year old man, underwent surgery Saturday evening and remain in critical condition, while a manhunt continues for their shooter.
LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said in a late-night news conference that both deputies graduated from the police academy 14 months ago.
They were shot while sitting in their patrol car at a Metro rail station and were able to radio for help, according to the sheriff.
Villanueva’s department has come under fire during recent protests over racial unrest, and he said he’s frustrated over anti-police sentiment and urged people to pray for the deputies.
