(Right Country) – Let me get this straight.
The New York Post reports on a treasure trove of photos, videos, and documents belonging to the son of the Democrat’s candidate for president and before even waiting for the fact-check, they block the link because it could be “dangerous”?
But a theory that First Lady Melania Trump has a body double is just free game?
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that Big Tech isn’t deliberately controlling the flow of information and the narratives that people are subject to each day.
It’s never been more obvious.
And it’s never been more important that something be done.
BizPac Review reports that a hoard of “blue check mark” Twitter accounts, e.g. users that have been verified as real people, often public figures, politicians, and celebrities, are pushing this bizarre, and also relatively arbitrary conspiracy theory.
“The theory, which has existed for a while now, has been that photos and videos of the first lady haven’t actually been of her but rather of a body double,” BPR explains.
“Here’s the thing — the theory has already been debunked by both common sense (HELLO?) and also by two mainstream media outlets,” they continue.
In fact, it’s been fact-checked by none other than USA Today, who BPR notes would deserve more credit for doing so if they hadn’t fact-checked The Babylon Bee, a satirical Christian website.
“A photo of President Donald Trump and the first lady on Marine One en route to the final presidential debate in Nashville, Tennessee, has revitalized a conspiracy theory that the White House uses a body double to sub in for Melania Trump,” USA Today’s fact-check reads.
“There’s no body double — just distorted video, anomalous photos, and coincidence. Each time, the allegations center on photos or videos of Melania Trump that social media users think just don’t look like her. But that’s relatively easily explained.”
So, Twitter is censoring tweets about the theory, right?
If damning potential evidence that a candidate for president has been benefitting from dirty, backdoor deals made between his family members and entities in Ukraine, China, Russia, and other foreign countries, surely an absolutely idiotic, totally inconsequential, pointless conspiracy theory that has been fact-checked by just the kind of outlet Big Tech uses to “independently” verify anything remotely convenient to the right-wing narrative is being censored too…right?
No, of course not.
Body double always wears shades and that awful wig https://t.co/sDSPenYB23

As of this writing, not a single one of these tweets has been flagged as misinformation.
“Meanwhile, countless tweets — some from Republican President Donald Trump, others from conservative journalists — still remained censored, even including some containing nothing but objective reporting,” BPR notes.
In addition to the example of the New York Post, Twitter also suspended the account of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark A. Morgan for celebrating the president’s border wall.
He is a government official who happens to be in charge of such things and was touting the success of constructing hundreds of new miles of border fencing.
This is insanity.
