(Right Country) – The 2020 election is already like no election in our nation’s history. Between coronavirus, burning political rivalries, and a candidate who doesn’t know what state he’s in, it seems as though everything is different.
But there is one thing that absolutely can’t change: the candidates must debate.
Republican National Committee Chairwoman declared on Tuesday that if Biden’s team manages to get him out of the debates somehow, he should be disqualified as a presidential candidate.
Just the News reports that McDaniel called out media figures who are running cover for the Biden campaign by calling for the debates to be scrapped ahead of the upcoming general election.
The outlet notes that “Commentators in the New York Times, on CNN, on Twitter and elsewhere have in recent weeks called for the presidential debates to be scrapped, a demand some conservatives have accused of being a cynical effort to protect Biden from the risk of on-air gaffes and mistakes.”
Speaking with Stuart Varney on Fox Business on Tuesday, McDaniel stated that Biden “doesn’t want to debate” and that his supporters are “afraid to put him on a debate stage.”
“I just want to say this,” she added, “I think it is disqualifying. If you cannot debate in front of the American people, and make your case as to why you should be President, as to why you should go up against people like Putin or Xi, then you should not be President.”
“I think if he doesn’t debate, if he doesn’t do all three [debates], he should be disqualified from actually running for President,” she added.
Over the summer, the Trump campaign has pushed for additional debates with Biden than the three traditionally held in the fall.
