Senator Tom Cotton Demands China Prove This About Deadly Coronavirus

(Right Country) – While many on the left are seriously triggered by the fact that questions have been raised that the coronavirus could be part of a Chinese biological weapon that got out of hand, it remains that, to anyone who’s ever paid the slightest attention to what the communist Chinese regime is interested in, this is an entirely plausible suggestion.

Now, Republican Senator Tom Cotton, someone who is not, as the DC Clothesline points out, is not known for conspiracy theory or hyperbole, is demanding the Chinese answer to this very question.

As Zero Hedge reports, Sen. Cotton, a former infantry officer in the US Army with two combat tours and a law degree from Harvard, has raised this important issue.

They also note that two other “mainstream” publications have also brought the question forward, and raise the question as to whether or not this deadly virus, which has reached the United States, is a bioweapon.

Is it merely a coincidence that the Canadian scientist at the center of a bio-espionage probe was recently found dead in Africa, as we reported last week? Or that a doctor who helped draft a critical international bioweapons convention has said that the virus might be tied to “biological warfare?”

Or an Israeli bioweapons expert? As Zero Hedge notes.

Cotton asserts that Chinese leaders must step up and answer these and other questions, especially after being accused of engaging in “xenophobia” against the Chinese people, which is an outrageous assertion that only someone very ignorant would make, by China’s Ambassador to the United States, Cui Tiankai.

Talk about a deflection!

The National Sentinel reported this week that Cui was asked about Cotton’s concerns about the potential of a bioweapon on a Sunday news show and failed to directly deny the assertion.

“That’s an extraordinary charge. How do you respond to that?” CBS News’ Margaret Brennan asked the ambassador of Cotton’s assertions.

“I think it’s true that a lot is still unknown and our scientists, Chinese scientists, American scientists, scientists of other countries are doing their best to learn more about the virus, but it’s very harmful,” Cui replied.

“It’s very dangerous to stir up suspicion, rumors and spread them among the people. For one thing, this will create panic. Another thing that it will fend up racial discrimination, xenophobia, all these things, that will really harm our joint efforts to combat the virus,” he continued.

“Of course, there are all kinds of speculation and rumors,” Cui said. “There are people who are saying that these virus are coming from some- some military lab, not of China, maybe in the United States. How — how can we believe all these crazy things?”

When Brennan pressed him as to where the virus did originate from, Cui answered, “We still don’t know yet.”

That’s a very shifty non-denial.

Also worthy of note, Cui was asked by Brennan about what happened to Chen Qiushi, the citizen journalist who disappeared after covering the deadly outbreak in Wuhan, the site of the original outbreak.

His response: “I have never heard of this guy, so I don’t have any information to share with you.”

So why did a US journalist know about “this guy”?

Well, Cotton replied, pointing out that the Chinese government have already lied about the origin of the virus.

He also pointed out that a so-called “super-lab” just happens to be located just a few scant miles from the market.

“Where did it start? We don’t know. But the burden of proof is on you & fellow communists,” Cotton wrote.

  1. Sen. Cotton is a measured, well-spoken, cautious and informed young man. I have heard him in interviews. He is polite, but plain spoken. I heard him voice his concerns recently in the senate. Based upon his observations and concerns, I would highly suspect that this is a bio weapon that escaped from the lab. Somebody got exposed, didn’t know or didn’t tell, went to the market when contagious and there you have it. The person who started the whole thing is long since dead.

  2. You Tom Cotton are a disgrace to your office and frankly all you Republicans who thought he wouldn’t get worse well how you feeling a week after do you have a little dignity left to stop this out of control President? Please do not send me anymore Republican materials it what you do NOT what you say

    • So you would rather have obummer or killary that would be a cover-up and a half . You upset snowflake because of all the Democrats wrong doings coming to light

  3. You could have just asked to be removed from subscription! Tom Cotton is absolutely right to expect China to answer questions. From the very first reports about the coronavirus, biological weapons were considered a possibility. It makes a lot more sense than eating bats. Trump 2020!

  4. Excellent article. It is unfortunate that those who do not bother to educate themselves are so quick to jump to a political conclusion. This is not about politics this is about a virus that appears to have been engineered to spread and kill victims in a short time. Thus. Ignorance such as this person exhibits will only allow episodes like this to occur again taking many more innocent no time with it. What a great way to get rid of all those Chinese people who are protesting and want their freedom from their government, you think?

  5. Don’t know if Mr Cotton is right or wrong regarding China producing the Corona Virus as a biological weapon. If it’s true that China produced the virus as a weapon then China should be charged with crimes against humanity in the world court of opinion.
