Tulsi Gabbard Calls Out Ballot-Harvesting, What She Just Said Has Leftists In Hysterics

(Right Country) – It’s hard to find high-profile Democrats who are willing to maintain consistent views and call out the crookedness within their own party, but Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) has always earned at least some respect from those on the right for displaying a higher regard for her principles than her party.

Gabbard, a veteran and outspoken opponent of endless wars, has universal appeal as someone who loves her country. She still holds many far-left views politically, but she doesn’t completely hate her country and she can relate to many on the right who respect our institutions more than politics.

She is yet again holding her peers’ feet to the flames with a scathing rebuke of ballot-harvesting, calling out an undercover video exposing Gabbard’s congressional colleague Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) to bolster her stance.

BizPac Review reports:

U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard introduced legislation to ban ballot harvesting and cited an undercover investigation by Project Veritas in her call to help pass the bill.

The Hawaii Democrat and former 2020 presidential hopeful tweeted a message along with her video about the ballot harvesting issue on Monday, angering some in her party when she noted the issue is bipartisan. Gabbard called for support for the bill introduced with U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis of Illinois called the Election Fraud Prevention Act.

“Banning ballot harvesting is not a partisan issue. It’s been used and abused in states like North Carolina and California and is ripe for fraud,” Gabbard wrote on Twitter earlier this month when the legislation was first introduced.

“It is important to remember that the strength of our democracy lies in the integrity of our elections, that every one of us has to have faith that our vote will count,” she explained.

“But right now there are still many states in our country that allow for something called ballot harvesting,” she continued, a practice which “allows for third parties to collect and deliver ballots for other people, potentially large numbers of people.”

“Our vote is our voice,” Gabbard continued. “So, whether in the midst of a pandemic, as we are now, where mail-in voting is likely to drastically increase, or even in a normal election, no one, should get in between a voter and the ballot box.”

Then, this week, Project Veritas released its bombshell expose into Omar’s campaign which shows an illegal cash-for-ballots operation.

President Trump called for an investigation into this alleged scheme.

“This is totally illegal,” he wrote on Twitter. “Hope that the U.S. Attorney in Minnesota has this, and other of her many misdeeds, under serious review??? If not, why not??? We will win Minnesota because of [Omar], and law enforcement.”

“Project Veritas offers further evidence of the need to ban ballot harvesting,” Gabbard wrote on Twitter after the video was released.

“It’s not a partisan issue. It’s been abused to help both R & D candidates, including in North Carolina & California. Please help by telling your congressional rep to pass our bipartisan bill HR8285,” Gabbard added in the retweet of her video from September 18.

In her video, the Congresswoman notes that her proposed legislation “protects the chain of custody” for ballots by “prohibiting funding from going to states ” where ballot harvesting is being allowed.

Taking such a common-sense, bipartisan stance on this very important issue triggered more than just a few leftists, naturally.

  1. You see the negative comments from ‘those who want to cheat’ but what gets me so perturbed is cheating is okay if we do it for the overall good. As an independent who loved JFK and Ronald Reagan I am appalled at the entire list of voters who trample on the Founding fathers principles that gave this country a foundation of real liberty for the people. I did NOT vote in 2016 for Trump OR Clinton (I feel she is an outright crook who should have been barred from the office). I feel that Biden should be committed to an Old Folks home and I don’t recognize the principles of a Democrat party any longer. These other comments prove that fair play, honesty, and real principles don’t matter. As a Vietnam veteran Bronze Star recipient I am ashamed of these actions. May God please save us.

  2. It’s a sad state of affairs when a true patriot like Tulsi Gabbard is ridiculed and called names by her own party because she stands up for being fair. Of all the presidential wannabes who vied for the Democratic nomination, Tulsi was the only one who consistently stood out as a person of conviction and ability to tell the truth as she saw it. I’m a conservative but I respect and admire her because she has convictions which she lives by and will not participate in underhanded attempts to steal an election. I feel she is a person who can be trusted and in the world of politics, that’s the highest form of praise.

  3. This Lady would have been a FAR better choice as a Presidential candidate than any of the other idiots that the Democrats had standing on the Pelican Perch.

I also am a Veteran, flew my share of missions in nasty places and brought home the holes in my aircraft to prove it, am a dyed-in-the wool Republican and have a great deal of respect for this Democrat.
