(Right Country) – Never let a good crisis go to waste, right?
That’s the Democrats’ motto right about now.
The executive emergency powers of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo have been amended to allow him to take “temporary” dictatorial powers to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.
Big League Politics reports:
Asm. Félix W. Ortiz of Brooklyn introduced Assembly Bill 9953 to amend the term “disaster” in the Executive Law to encompass “disease outbreak” and “impending or urgent” disaster preparedness and response. This has been pushed over fears of the coronavirus outbreak.
The legislative summary for A.9953 reads as follows: “Under current Executive Law, the Governor has the ability to suspend provisions of any statute during a disaster. These suspensions may not last longer than 30 days and may be terminated by a concurrent resolution of the Legislature. This bill adds the ability of the Governor to issue any directive or suspend any statute during a declared state of disaster.”
In addition to drastically expanding executive power, the legislation would also grant Cuomo the ability to spend $40 million to combat the coronavirus. Cuomo signed A.9953 into law on Tuesday, expanding his own power substantially.
On Tuesday, Cuomo reported that there have been two cases reported in his populous state.

The Democrats have also continued to spread their hysteria this week and to try to find a way to blame its spread on President Donald Trump, including those who are vying to replace him in 2021.
“The coronavirus has already arrived here in America, and make no mistake: The incompetence in the White House is endangering lives and hurting our economy,” declared former New York City Mayor and Democrat presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg.
While former candidate and billionaire Tom Steyer said, “He’s just discovering two months later, ‘Whoa, this could hurt my reelection attempts. That’s how superficial a man he really is. He is incompetent. This is his Katrina event, where it’s like ‘Whoa, I have to do a job?’ Who knew?”
President Trump has struck back against the partisan attacks from Democrats regarding the coronavirus.
“Washington Democrats are trying to politicize the coronavirus, denigrating the noble work of our public health professionals, but honestly not so much anymore,” Trump said during a rally in Charlotte, N.C. “Everyone appreciates these are the greatest professionals in the world at what they do. We’re actually helping a lot of other countries.”
“The political attacks from some of the Democrats really must stop. We’ve really got to work together on this one to safeguard our people,” Trump added.
However, the Democrats will not hesitate to use a public health crisis to gain control, and the brazen power-grab in the New York legislature – which could give Gov. Cuomo absolute power – is evidence of that.
